Jordan, 1960s. An eccentric and unbounded boy runs away from home knowing full well that his young mother will follow in this search for freedom.

One of Filmmaker magazine’s “25 New Faces of Independent Cinema,” Annemarie Jacir recently premiered her multiple-award-winning debut feature Salt of This Sea as an official selection of the Cannes International Film Festival. It was also this year’s official Oscar entry from Palestine for Best Foreign Language Film. Jacir has worked in film since 1994, and is a co-founder of Philistine Films as well as Dreams of a Nation, dedicated to the promotion of Palestinian cinema.

Ossama Bawardi - Producer
Ossama Bawardi is an independent producer based in Nazareth and Amman. His credits include Paradise Now, Be Quiet, and Waiting for Saleh Al Din. He is currently producing Annemarie Jacir’s latest feature entitled, When I Saw You.
Tarek possesses a very basic sense of freedom, a simple desire to feel safe and loved. The camera work will reflect his inner struggle, following quiet, intimate moments. When I Saw You is about recapturing the empowerment of the late 1960’s and a sense of possibility and hope.
