Art student Jackie Sumell asks Herman Wallace, a black panther activist who’s been imprisoned in continuous solitary confinement longer than anyone in American history, to describe his ideal house.
Angad Bhalla - Director, Director of Photography
Angad Bhalla’s short documentary Writings on the Wall (Worldfest Houston, Columbus Film & Video Festival) was broadcast nationally on Canada’s Bravo!, India’s NDTV, and internationally on Al Jazeera English. He is a community organizer for immigrant rights and has worked on videos for Human Rights Watch and the Global March Against Child Labor. Bhalla is currently directing a feature documentary that studies the U.S. prison system, entitled The House That Herman Built.
Lisa Valencia-Svensson - Producer
Lisa Valencia-Svensson is a documentary film producer based in Toronto. She produced the short films Borderless and Sedition and currently works for Storyline Entertainment, where she is producing Resilience: Stories of Black Single Mothers for OMNI TV.
Loring McAplin - Executive Producer
Loring McAlpin is a founding member of the AIDS Activist art collective Gran Fury. He associate produced Ira Sach's first feature, The Delta, and has worked on radio documentaries with Kate Bland for Just Radio/BBC Radio 2.
