Jason Perez - Director, Producer

Jason Perez got his start film production spending eight years working under director Spike Lee. Soon after, Lee appointed Perez to direct a pilot for client Turner Broadcasting under his advertisement agency Spike DDB. Perez was then commissioned to direct a documentary short of the first Arts Workshop at the Oprah Winfrey Leader Academy for Girls in South Africa, and went on to direct historical coverage of her Obama for America fundraiser.

Mike Ellis - Producer

Mike Ellis has worked on numerous films with Spike Lee including Crooklyn, Summer of Sam, and Inside Man. He has also produced the films Jim Brown: All American, and The Perfect Age of Rock n Roll.

Daniel Patterson - Director of Photography

Daniel Patterson was the cinematographer on three recent feature-length documentaries: Generation Crack, 25 to Life (Tribeca All Access participant), and Evolution of a Criminal (Spike Lee Production Fellowship Award Recipient).

My vision for Sweet Hands is to be honest and undisguised when shooting Nisa. We have tried to capture the disparity between her and the backdrop of her neighborhood, and shown the Bronx in a way many people have never seen, sunrises on Orchard Beach and sunsets from rooftops.
