When her estranged mother dies, an angry Lucy discovers a family she never knew she had and eventually comes to understand that love is always more powerful than anger.

A graduate of the UK's National Film & Television School, Sonia Castang is an award-winning short film Writer/Director whose films have played at national and international film festivals. She has written two plays, one of which titled Caravan, was described by Time Out magazine as "Gritty comedy at its best." She was commissioned on the UK Film Council's/Screeneast New Feature Writer Scheme and was selected to take part in the Berlinale Talent Campus. She is currently in post production with her new short film Ashes and is developing feature projects with producers.

Windward will be a moving and funny film about the pain one feels when you've experienced abandonment as a child and haven't let go of those feelings as an adult. Lucy an acerbic and droll protagonist will take the audience on this emotionally turbulent but ultimately uplifting journey.
