All applicants will be notified of acceptance or not via email no later than Monday, March 22, 2010.

Will my script and/or submission material be returned to me?

We regret that we are unable to return application materials. All submitted additional materials for projects not selected are destroyed after all final notices are sent.

Does Tribeca All Access own the rights to my project if it is selected for the program?

No. We do request that should your film move into production that you include the Tribeca All Access logo in the closing credits along with the words: “A selected project of Tribeca All Access, a program of the Tribeca Film Institute.”

I’m having trouble locating the release form; where can I find it?

Applicants must fill out an application prior to signing the release form and sending in their submission materials. There are separate release forms for Narrative and Documentary so please be sure you are signing the correct release.

The forms maybe download as PDFs: Narrative Release Form and Documentary Release Form. If applying with more than one project, each submission should have its own signed release form.

The artistic statement should briefly explain the director’s and/or writer’s vision and touch on tone and the intended style. You may also wish to describe your motivation for wanting to make the film.

What should be included in my documentary proposal?

Applicants must submit a full and thorough proposal that outlines the intended shape of the documentary, introduces the subject(s) and/or locale(s), and provides an overview of the production team and budget.

Can I mail my digital photo in with my additional materials and application?

Headshots should be submitted online during the application process and do not need to be of professional quality, but should the project be accepted they may be used for promotional purposes so do not submit a photo you would prefer not to see in print. If an online problem occurs while uploading your photo, a digital CD with the photo may be submitted. Image filenames should use the following format: “firstname_lastname.jpg” and should be at least 1200-1500 pixels in either height or width.

How do I know if my project has a “qualified director or screenwriter” attached?

Tribeca All Access promotes the careers and work of those who are traditionally underrepresented in mainstream media. Over the last decade, industry reports have consistently shown a lack of diversity in writing and directing for film and television. Tribeca All Access seeks to address this void through connections and introductions that may lead to future collaborations. Over the past five years, Tribeca All Access has curated a slate of scripts and documentary works-in-progress that have been extremely diverse in terms of genre, style, theme, and budget range. All of the selected projects have also had at least one director and/or screenwriter attached who identified him or herself as African American, Asian American, Latino, Pacific Islander, Arab American or Native American. As of last year, Tribeca All Access has expanded the program to accept applications from women who do not fall into one of the categories above.

Is Tribeca All Access open to filmmakers from around the world?

Applicants must be current residents of the United States or Puerto Rico but do not need to be US citizens. However, TAA builds relationships with filmmakers from selected international organizations, who bring participants from their respective countries to take part in the program. Filmmakers coming to the program through an international associate will be selected by the designated organization with the help of TAA. For more information email allaccess@tribecafilminstitute.org.

When do I need to be in attendance for the Tribeca All Access program?

The qualifying director or writer must be in attendance during the entirety of TAA, beginning April 19-25, 2010. If a screenplay does not have a director attached, the screenwriter must be in attendance for the entirety of the program. Producers and other team members are welcomed and encouraged to join during the meetings and other TAA scheduled events when noted. However, the total per project team should not exceed four.

I live in LA. If I am accepted into the program, will Tribeca All Access cover my travel and accommodation?

Tribeca All Access covers airfare and accommodation for primary participants (this would be the qualifying director if attached, or qualifying screenwriter if no director is attached) who do not reside in the New York City metro area for the duration of the Tribeca All Access program.

Note: This does not cover the duration of the Tribeca Film Festival; however participants are welcomed to arrange their own accommodations past the Tribeca All Access scheduled program. Meals are not provided except when part of a specific networking function.

If I apply to Tribeca All Access does this cover my application for the Tribeca Film Festival as well?

No. Applicants may not apply to TAA and the Tribeca Film Festival with the same project. Filmmakers with completed films seeking to apply to the Tribeca Film Festival should fill out a separate application by visiting www.tribecafilm.com/festival/.

Will I be able to attend the Tribeca Film Festival as a Tribeca All Access participant?

All primary participants are accredited as a filmmaker at the festival and will be able to accredit up to two additional team members.
